Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop – Let’s Sprinkle August With Life

Welcome to another fun Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop!  Our theme this time is Let’s Sprinkle August With Life.  I will be sharing two project I made with the Sprinkles of Life stamp set from Stampin’ Up! And, of course we can’t forget to share the Tree Builder punch that coordinates so beautifully with the set.  I will be also sharing a CASE from Stampin’ Up!’s catalog.

Before I share my project with you I want to remind you this is a circular hop.  That means that wherever you begin, if you continue to go to the “next” person on this list, you will eventually wind up right where you first started.  You will fin the “next” button (and the “previous” button – if you wan to go backwards) at the end of this post.  The “home” button will give you a listing of all participating blogs.  I hope you’ll take time to look at all our blogs.

If you’ve been moving forward through the blog hop you have arrived here after stopping by Christine Giuda’s blog.  Doesn’t she have wonderful projects – I just love her creativity!

Sprinkles of Life – Easel Card

It is easy to create a “designer series” paper with the sprinkles stamp.  To create the DSP look I randomly stamped Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Elegant Eggplant sprinkles over a piece of Whisper White card stock.
The top part of the cupcake is layered to give more dimension to the card. Of course I used the Tree Builder punch to punch out the cupcake!

This is how the unopened card looks.

Did you notice I put a thin strip of the designer series paper I made over the Daffodil Delight ribbon?

Sprinkles of Life – Flap Fold Card

I was on a fancy fold kick!  While looking on Splitcoaststampers I came across the Flap Fold Card tutorial and decided to give it a try.  It’s actually very easy and fun to make.

This picture is with the top flap folded over and behind.

For the main panel I started with Whisper White card stock and sponged Pool Party for the sky and Garden Green for the hill.  I made the clouds on this piece lighter than on the top flap by stamping with Soft Sky ink instead of Pool Party so the sun with the happy birthday would be the main focal point in the sky.

I love how easy it is to punch out the tree and flowers with the Tree Builder punch.

Catalog CASE

I am so glad the group decided to do another CASE from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog for two reasons:
  • It made me go back through the catalog and look at all the wonderful creations the talented Stampin’ Up! team put together.
  • I realized I have always had a great source of inspiration right under my nose!

I really liked this card found at the top of page 105 in the annual catalog.  As you can see, this card was created using softer colors.

I decided I wanted to make a card using bolder colors.  I chose to use some of my favorite in-colors from last year – Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, and Hello Honey.  I also stepped up the card by adding an extra layer with the Blackberry Bliss as my card base.

I hope you take time to look through the annual catalog again soon.  If you are like me you will be surprised at what you find to CASE!

I hope you enjoyed my projects as much as I enjoyed making them and I hope you were inspired along the way.

You are now off to be inspired by Gail Allen.  I’m sure you will be delighted by what you see!

Thank you so much for stopping by.
