Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop, January Mini Hop – Number One

2016 January Mini Blog Hop Banner #1

Welcome to the first of two January Mini Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop (try to say that fast)!

As you make your rounds through the blog tour you will see fabulous projects from the Stampin’ Up! Handmade from the Heart Occasions and Sale-A-Bration  catalogs.  I am sure you are going to be delighted with what you see as you hop along!

Before I share my projects with you, I want to remind you this is a circular Blog Hop. That means that wherever you begin, if you continue to go to the “next” blog on the list, you will eventually wind up right where you first started. You will find the “next” button (and the “previous” button if you want to go backwards) at the end of this post. The “home” button will give you a listing of all participating blogs.

If you have been moving forward through the hop you would have arrived here after visiting the gifted and talented Heidi Weaver’s blog.  She is incredible!

Happy hopping!

Sky is the Limit

There were so many great products in the new Handmade from the Heart Occasions Catalog I had a hard time deciding what to buy first.  Once I received my first order my next challenge was which stamp set to use first!

I’ve decided I wanted to share a manly card with you so I used  one of my new toys – the World Traveler Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  It is  wonderful to use simply as it was intended, to emboss your card stock. Or you can do as I did and I add ink (Old Olive and Early Espresso) directly on to the folder to “stamp” and emboss the images of the embossing folder at the same time.  Next I sponged Soft Sky over the card stock.

The  plane, greeting, and clouds are from the Sale-A-Bration set the Sky is the Limit.  It is a limited time set , only available through February 15th.  If you’re wanting this set get it before it is gone!

Ready for A Nice Cuppa Tea?

There are few things a good cup of tea cannot fix. Whether it be a black tea in the morning to wake up with, a lighter flowery tea in the afternoon with a meal, or a sleepy time tea for bed; tea can be used brighten up a day. I like to take any opportunity that I can to share a cup with a friend, so I created this card as a neat way to pass along a cute little pick me up.

Cups Kettles Side Step My Tanglewood Cottage

This is a single side step card with a gusseted treat pouch for tea nestled on the side step.  I made the treat pouch using the Envelope Punch Board.

Behind the treat pouch is a cute little creamer cut with a die from the Cups & Kettle Framelits Dies and an area to write a message to the recipient of the card.

The teapot, teacup, and spoon were also cut from dies from the Cups & Kettle Framelits Dies and the flowers are from the Sale-A-Bration set Flowering Fields.  The greeting is from A Nice Cuppa stamp set.

Did you notice the heart shape seems to be floating in air?  I used a tiny piece of a window sheet to adhere it to the cup.

All this talk of tea has made me want a cuppa, so off I go!  Enjoy the rest of the hop.  Your next stop is Jackie Susnik!  Be ready for some wonderful inspiration!

  1. Great projects, Marie! Love the plane. The teapot and cup are very nice. That’s I set I’ve not gotten. After seeing this, I may just have to add it to my next order. 🙂

  2. Hi Marie, I couldn’t figure out how to leave a comment. It didn’t come up for me right away. Thank goodness it finally did when I clicked on the actual blog post.

That first card—wonderful! Now I wish I had inked up my EF and used it that way. Really, it’s stunning and makes that EF an even better buy. Love the way you’ve mixed the greens and browns for the continents. It gives everything so much more dimension. What a clever idea, creating a gusseted treat pouch for tea bags in that cute single step card. Not only does it look great, but it comes with a surprise. Love it!

    • I think after all we did with the Woodlands EF over the holidays I was in that “ink up the embossing folder” mode! The gusseted treat pouch was really an after thought…I looked at what I was creating and said to myself “it needs something more!” LOL! It was definitely not my original plan for the card!

  3. Great idea to ink up your embossing folder! It makes the “land” really look like “land”! And your tea set is so cute! Now I’m doubly inspired to get that bundle! Thanks for the wonderful ideas.
