The Open Sea Going Global

Have you ever wondered what it was like in the age of exploration over the open sea?  The trials and adventures that awaited the sailors must have made a person’s heart beat double time – or at least it would have mine!  I’m thankful that those brave sailors took on the challenge and made it across the ocean, because this land is truly beautiful!

This card features The Open Sea, set from Stampin’ Up!  I have always enjoyed making masculine cards with this set. I added depth to this card by stamping the ship once on Lost Lagoon card stock and then on Very Vanilla. Since I enjoying “fussy cutting”I  cut each of the sails from the Very Vanilla and then adhered them onto the Lost Lagoon piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

    • Thank you so much Bev. I really do love both the Open Sea and Going Global sets, and they really do coordinate well. You won’t be sorry to get it!

  1. I’m really going to miss that embossing folder and the Open Sea stamp set. It’s like losing a part of me, I’ve had that stamp set for so long. I got it right after I began with Stampin’ Up! *sigh* At least I own it. And your card truly does it justice. A simply elegant and beautifully designed card.

    • I love the Open Sea stamp set, it has been a “go to” set for me so many times when I needed a masculine card. I was sorry to see them retire it. I was hoping the would grandfather it in! I was surprised they didn’t keep the embossing folder. Thanks for your kind remarks Heidi.
