Sitting Here – Watercooler Wednesday Challenge

My craft room had been disassembled because we had our carpet cleaned. And, since  everything was out I decided to purchase a large closet and totally rearrange how I had my craft supplies stored.  It’s amazing the things you find when you tidy up!  Now that things are back together I can finally sit down and stamp!!!

As I was looking for a card layout I found a great one on the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  This week’s challenge was a sketch challenge hosted by Deborah Smart.  There are some wonderful samples for our eyes to feast on, but one stood out to me created by Heidi Weaver so I thought I better give this challenge a try!   This card features the Sitting Here stamp set.  Complementing sets are Timeless Textures and Sheltering Tree.

This is a layout I will be trying again sometime soon.  Thanks Deborah for the inspiration!

  1. Oh, Marie, where do I start? First by welcoming you to our challenge, of course. And then? Well, you’ve totally aced this sketch. What a wonderful use of all the various components! Having the leaves extend from the main image into the background “banner”—great idea! I love the colours, the use of space, the background embossing. The layers on that swing really add to the effect as well, but then you’ve always been a fussy-cutter. Great work, Marie. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

    • Thank you Heidi. I was inspired to stamp the leaves on the “banner” because of the fabulous card you created for this sketch challenge! You so so right when you say I am a fussy-cutter!

  2. You certainly did right by this sketch, Marie! This is one of my favourite stamp sets, and I love how you carried over the stamping from each of the panels. I think I’ll be CASEing your card! Thanks so much for joining in my sketch challenge this week for Watercooler Wednesday! ~Deborah

    • Thank you Deborah for your comments. And, thank you for your sketch challenge, you made it fun for me! You don’t know how much I needed a starting point when I sat down to stamp the other day!

  3. Marie I’m loving everything about your card. Using those cute little decorative dots for the flowers was a nice touch and catches your eye right away. Thanks so much for joining this sketch challenge this week. Glad you’re back stamping!

  4. This was the first stamp set that went on my pre-order – and I love what you have done with it! The colours are so fresh and I can just hear that kitty purring. I’m so happy you were inspired by Deborah and Heidi and to have you join in at the Watercooler Challenge.

  5. LOVE you card and all the detail work put into it. It’s beautiful. Thanks for playing along with us at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges this week!
