Years ago when my husband and I were first dating in the early spring he would call me on the phone to chat. His home was located in the country and there was a huge pond on the property that was creek “fed”. And I bet you can guess what the pond was full of (besides fish!) – frogs! I can still remember the sound of bull frogs croaking through the phone as we talked! Over the years I came to love that sound and the memories it brings to mind.
Playful Pals is such a cute set and of course you can make an adorable frog card with it! This little guy is all decked out with a Pacific Point bow tie to hop on over and wish one of my grandsons a happy birthday! He sits on a lily pad of Always Artichoke card stock created from an oval shape with a slit made in it, and then sponged around the edges with Always Artichoke ink. The leaves are from the Botanical Blooms Suite and the water was created by running a piece of Soft Sky through the Big Shot in the Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The waves are from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits.
Do you know what frogs eat? I wasn’t sure so I Googled to find out. According to KidZone, they are actually carnivores, which means that they will eat meat. (Who would have guessed!) However, small to medium sized frogs eat insects such as flies and mosquitoes. So this next frog is a small to medium variety!
I just couldn’t resist adding a tongue and a fly to this card!
Isn’t this a fun card? I think I will have to give my husband one of these cards too for his birthday in memory of our earlier days!
That’s it for now. Ribbit (Thanks for stopping by in frog talk!)
