Wacky Watercooler March Sale-a-bration Blog Hop

Welcome to another Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop!  I’m so glad you could join us.  This month we will be featuring projects from the Sale-a-bration brochure, and, of course the Annual Catalog.  It’s a smaller blog hop, with only five us able to participate, but have no fear, it is a hop to delight your eyes!

I want to remind you, if you are wanting to get more of the fun free Sale-a-bration items (Free after the appropriate purchase – $50 in the USA, before shipping and tax), you have only until March 31st, time is running out!

How the Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop Works:

Before I show you my projects I wanted to remind you that this is a circular Blog Hop. That means that wherever you begin, if you continue to go to the “next” blog on the list, you will eventually wind up right where you first started. You will find the “next” button (and the “previous” button if you want to go backwards) at the end of this post. The “home” button will give you a listing of all participating blogs.

If you have been moving forward through the Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop you would have arrived here after visiting Marsha Reed’s blog.  I’m always excited to see her projects and I know you will be too!

First up – Moon Baby Carried Away

I have to be honest with you, I really don’t like most baby stamp sets, but  I fell in love with the Moon Baby stamp set the moment I saw it.  The babies featured in this set are just plain adorable!  And, there is just something about a baby hanging out on a moon dangling a star that says “precious” to me!

I used Wink of Stella to make the moon sparkle on this card.

Are you wondering what the Sale-a-bration item is on this card?  Well, it’s the Designer Series Paper, Carried Away.  This particular piece is Night of Navy and white and has clouds, hot air balloons and a mountain scene.  Since I didn’t want the hot air balloons or the mountain scene to show, I cut the piece so the mountain scene was not included.  I then die cut lots of clouds from Whisper White card stock using the cloud dies from the Outdoor Adventure Framelits and layered the clouds so the hot air balloons weren’t visible.  Doesn’t that baby look dreamy?!

Tasty Trucks – Another Fun Sale-a-bration stamp set!

My next card features the Tasty Trucks set.  There have been some fabulous cards made using the Tasty Trucks Sale-a-bration set on Pinterest.  Anything from ice cream beach scenes to an ambulance, even treat boxes designed using the truck stamp. Such a fun, fun set.

I paired the Tasty Trucks set with the Always an Adventure stamp set.  I love the dimension the layers add to this card.

Hey Chick

Now for my favorite Sale-a-bration set, Hey Chick! I love, love, love this set!

Easter is around the corner so I decided to make egg holders featuring those sassy chickens.

Kathe Johnson shared via You Tube her egg holder design and instructions.  I used her dimensions, with the exception of the hole punch because the chocolate eggs I purchased were larger than Cadbury eggs.  I used a 1 3/8″ hole punch instead, which would even hold plastic eggs.  (You can find Kathe’s video here.)

I hope you have had a chance to get all the Sale-a-bration items you wanted.  If not, you still have until March 31, 2017.

It’s time for you to see what Fiona has for you.  I bet it will be inspiring!  Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Yes, Marie, that was a question which crossed my mind with your first card but with the mountain out and also covering the hot air balloons, the little clouds which are left on that gorgeous white and deep blue paper are perfect for the card you’ve created. It’s lovely enough to grace the cover of a children’s book. I, too, love the layers in your second card. Great use of that tasty treat truck. I have to say, however, that it will be your third project which I plan to CASE. With Easter coming up, I know a couple of boys who will be in stitches finding treats covered with those adorable chicks.

    • Heidi, I couldn’t help but use those adorable sassy chicken for the Easter egg holder, they are just too fun! I am so glad you will be CASing the egg holder.

  2. Your cards and projects are so cute and adorable. Fabulous way to use the “chicks”. Definitely CASEing that great idea!

  3. Fabulous cards….the baby is so ADORABLE!!! Love your Tasty Truck card with the mountain diecuts is so cute. What a great idea with the egg holders…on my to make list! 😉

  4. Marie these are such great projects. I’m not really a fan of most baby sets either, but I’ve seen lots of great samples with this one. You’re right the baby is so precious with his little dangling star. Love how you adapted the DSP and covered it with those perfect clouds. Just the right amount. When I saw your second card I was impressed with the great scene you’ve created. What fun! The truck is perfect heading off to the mountains. And finally what delightful egg treat holders. Love the “Hey Chick” designs and your bold colouring. What fun! Thanks for sharing Marie.

    • Thanks for your kind comments Penny. I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s not a fan of baby sets – always a challenge to create fun baby cards for me.

  5. OMG, Marie! Over-the-top cuteness! Moon Baby is one of my favs right now, and I love what you did with the cloud paper and stamping the sentiment on the cloud. Your background for the Tasty Trucks is perfect–I’m gonna have to try that one! But your egg holders are adorable! Love the chicks and the boxes, and the coloring to match the eggs – what a great idea for Easter treats! Wonderful inspiration; thanks for sharing your creativity!

  6. Marie, the baby on the sparkly moon is so, so cute! Love how you’ve used that DSP. It truly does look like they are floating around the moon and baby. And the chickens on the egg holders – perfect!
