Over the Moon for You Baby!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted due to life’s challenges, but things are looking up!  So, here we go!

Who doesn’t love a baby?  They are so soft and cuddly, and when I sit down to rock them to sleep I usually join in on the nap!  I have a grand-daughter that will be expecting her second child and I am excited to meet my new great-grand-daughter!  This card will be perfect for the baby shower!

When the Carols of Christmas bundle came out I wanted to get the bundle because I loved the dies that were in the Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies.  The night scene die, with it’s stars and moon, was a perfect pair up with the Moon Baby stamp set.  And isn’t this baby so adorable cuddled up on the moon!

I wanted to create a brayered background and I don’t brayer very often. I needed a refresher course, so I went to Michelle Zindorf‘s site.  She has got to be the queen of the brayer technique! The colors I used for the background were Marina Mist and Island Indigo.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope to see you again soon!

Wacky Watercooler March Sale-a-bration Blog Hop

Welcome to another Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop!  I’m so glad you could join us.  This month we will be featuring projects from the Sale-a-bration brochure, and, of course the Annual Catalog.  It’s a smaller blog hop, with only five us able to participate, but have no fear, it is a hop to delight your eyes!

I want to remind you, if you are wanting to get more of the fun free Sale-a-bration items (Free after the appropriate purchase – $50 in the USA, before shipping and tax), you have only until March 31st, time is running out!

How the Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop Works:

Before I show you my projects I wanted to remind you that this is a circular Blog Hop. That means that wherever you begin, if you continue to go to the “next” blog on the list, you will eventually wind up right where you first started. You will find the “next” button (and the “previous” button if you want to go backwards) at the end of this post. The “home” button will give you a listing of all participating blogs.

If you have been moving forward through the Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop you would have arrived here after visiting Marsha Reed’s blog.  I’m always excited to see her projects and I know you will be too!

First up – Moon Baby Carried Away

I have to be honest with you, I really don’t like most baby stamp sets, but  I fell in love with the Moon Baby stamp set the moment I saw it.  The babies featured in this set are just plain adorable!  And, there is just something about a baby hanging out on a moon dangling a star that says “precious” to me!

I used Wink of Stella to make the moon sparkle on this card.

Are you wondering what the Sale-a-bration item is on this card?  Well, it’s the Designer Series Paper, Carried Away.  This particular piece is Night of Navy and white and has clouds, hot air balloons and a mountain scene.  Since I didn’t want the hot air balloons or the mountain scene to show, I cut the piece so the mountain scene was not included.  I then die cut lots of clouds from Whisper White card stock using the cloud dies from the Outdoor Adventure Framelits and layered the clouds so the hot air balloons weren’t visible.  Doesn’t that baby look dreamy?!

Tasty Trucks – Another Fun Sale-a-bration stamp set!

My next card features the Tasty Trucks set.  There have been some fabulous cards made using the Tasty Trucks Sale-a-bration set on Pinterest.  Anything from ice cream beach scenes to an ambulance, even treat boxes designed using the truck stamp. Such a fun, fun set.

I paired the Tasty Trucks set with the Always an Adventure stamp set.  I love the dimension the layers add to this card.

Hey Chick

Now for my favorite Sale-a-bration set, Hey Chick! I love, love, love this set!

Easter is around the corner so I decided to make egg holders featuring those sassy chickens.

Kathe Johnson shared via You Tube her egg holder design and instructions.  I used her dimensions, with the exception of the hole punch because the chocolate eggs I purchased were larger than Cadbury eggs.  I used a 1 3/8″ hole punch instead, which would even hold plastic eggs.  (You can find Kathe’s video here.)

I hope you have had a chance to get all the Sale-a-bration items you wanted.  If not, you still have until March 31, 2017.

It’s time for you to see what Fiona has for you.  I bet it will be inspiring!  Thanks for stopping by!

Moon Baby

We’ve been experiencing some very cold weather accompanied by lots of snow here at our home, so I’ve had some time to spend in my craft room.

The new 2017 Occasions Catalog & Sale-a-bration Brochures are full of some wonderful new stamp sets to make some wonderful projects.  It in the Occasions Catalog is the set Moon Baby.   I normally do not like baby stamp sets, I don’t know why, but I don’t!  But Moon Baby stole my heart!

Sharing a shaker card made with the Moon Baby set today with the layout inspired by the design on Mojo Monday’s site.

Isn’t that just the cutest little baby sleeping on the moon!!!

Here’s a close up of the shaker portion.

I had a stash of star and moon sequins that I’ve had so long I can’t remember where I got them!  They were perfect for this shaker card!

I used the new Watercolor Pencils and an Aqua Painter to create a “Milky Way” effect on the watercolor paper in the background of the shaker card and the stripe down the side.  The stars are colored in with the pencils and then I applied Clear Wink of Stella over the top.  The moon also has Wink of Stella applied over it.  (I wish I could have captured the shine this card has with my camera.)
